The Historic Red Barn at Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation
The historic Red Barn is located on the Brighton Seminole Indian Reservation in Glades County, Florida. Constructed around 1941 by the Civil Conservation Corps Indian Division, the Red Barn housed the horses used by the Seminoles in cattle ranching and also served as a community gathering place.
The Barn has undergone some restoration prior to and after recognition by the Department of Interior, National Park Service as having Statewide significance to the Seminole Tribe. In December of 2008, the Red Barn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
